Replaced the tensioner, bolt and serpentine belt a third time since Mabecause of defective parts (2nd time). Towed again, new belt and tensioner defective. Tensioner and belt needed to be replaced. Tensioner bolt broke causing the serpentine belt to come off the tensioner and the van had to be towed. Garage got a notice from Honda and was able to clean the mass airflow sensor. Speed sensor was removed ,cleaned and reinstalled.Ĭheck engine light-3 codes for oxygen sensors and catalytic converter. Several other recalled parts were also replaced.Ĭheck Engine Light came on. Don't forget all of those body panel plugs. A new part online from the dealer costs $20. After removing three (3) of the four (4) screws, plastic air intake cover snapped off. Also replaced valve cover gaskets (2 56.00 each), and adjusted valves. $93.00 to diagnose, $214.92 for the coil packs. Replaced #3 and #4 coil packs, which were saturated with oil. Variable valve timing unit was leaking oil onto alternator which caused alternator to fail Pinging sound from engine when going up hill or under load It turned out that the cable could have got disconnected when the mechanic shop worked on the bad engine mount.Įngine pinging under load. Further into the EGR valve failure, I checked all the cables and found one cable had been disconnected from the connector of the EGR valve harness. Took to a mechanic to have it diagnosed and reported an electrical problem with the EGR valve. Repair exceeded value of vehicle so it was sold to the mechanic for $800īelt tensioner replaced. Replacement of ignition cylinder, it locked up and would not turn.Įngine knocks when cold and in drive. Replacement of the top half of the air cleaner housing which had developed a crack. Replaced serpentine belt and hydraulic belt tensioner. Total was $600, my part was $100 deductible. Had two broken motor mounts replaced under ext wart. Dealer replaced all 4 plugs on that side of the engine due to Honda service bulletin.
